Visual Description
Anatrichobius scorzai is an ectoparasitic fly. Based on examination of museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic flattened body form typical of many hippoboscid flies, which facilitates movement through the fur of its host. The body is generally brown in coloration, with specialized structures adapted for its parasitic lifestyle.[1]
Ecology and Distribution
Anatrichobius scorzai is an ectoparasitic fly associated with bats (Chiroptera).[2] It has been documented in Panama, including a report from the Chucantí Nature Reserve in the Darién province, which represented the first record of the species in that region.[2]
