Visual Description
Anatella pseudogibba is a small fly characteristic of the family Mycetophilidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the species exhibits a slender, elongated body typical of fungus gnats. The thorax is arched, and the wings are relatively long and clear, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen. The legs are long and thin, with prominent tibial spurs, a common feature in this group. The coloration is generally brownish or yellowish, providing a degree of camouflage against the fungal substrates they frequent.[1]
Distribution and Classification
Anatella pseudogibba was described by Plassmann in 1976.[2] It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Anatella, which belongs to the tribe Exechiini within the subfamily Mycetophilinae.[3]
