Visual Description
Anatella flavomaculata is a small, slender fly characteristic of the family Mycetophilidae. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a dark, elongated body with distinct, lighter-colored transverse bands on the abdominal segments. The head is dark and rounded, bearing long, multi-segmented antennae. The wings are clear and elongated, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen. The legs are notably long and slender, typical of many fungus gnats, and are equipped with visible spines.[1]
Ecology and Interactions
Anatella flavomaculata has been documented as a prey species for the bush-cricket Conocephalus dorsalis.[2]
