Visual Description
Anatella ankeli is a species of fungus gnat within the family Mycetophilidae. Based on examination of preserved specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic slender, delicate body form typical of the genus Anatella. The specimens display long, thin legs and elongated antennae, which are consistent with the general morphology of mycetophilids. Due to the nature of the available imagery, which consists of pinned museum specimens, finer diagnostic morphological traits such as specific wing venation patterns or detailed terminalia structures cannot be resolved.[1]
