The body displays a typical tephritid form, with a distinct, rounded head and a robust thorax. The wings are marked with a characteristic pattern of dark, sclerotized bands, which are diagnostic for many species within this genus. The abdomen is generally elongated and tapers towards the posterior end.[1]
Anastrepha tubifera is a species of fruit fly in the family Tephritidae. It was originally described by Francis Walker in 1858 as Trypeta tubifera.[2]
