Anastrepha montei is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Based on examination of museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic body form of the genus Anastrepha, with a distinct, often patterned wing venation typical of the family.[1]
Anastrepha montei has been documented in Brazil. In a study conducted in a caatinga-cerrado transition region in Minas Gerais, this species was identified as one of the most common fruit fly species found in fragments of native vegetation adjacent to guava orchards.[2] The study observed that all fruit fly species recorded in these native forest fragments were also collected within the nearby guava orchards.[2]
