Anastrepha hastata is a fruit fly species within the family Tephritidae. Based on observations of preserved specimens, the body exhibits the characteristic form of the genus Anastrepha. The thorax and abdomen are typically yellowish-brown in coloration. The wings are marked with a distinct, complex pattern of dark brown or blackish bands, which is a diagnostic feature often used in the identification of Anastrepha species.[1]
Anastrepha hastata was described by Alan Stone in 1942.[2] The species is recognized as part of the Anastrepha fauna in Brazil.[3]
