Based on observations of museum specimens, Anastrepha ethalea exhibits the characteristic body form of the genus Anastrepha. The specimens display a distinct, patterned wing venation typical of tephritid fruit flies, with brownish-yellow markings forming a characteristic pattern across the wing membrane. The body is generally yellowish-brown, with a more heavily sclerotized, darker thorax and a lighter, segmented abdomen.[1]
Anastrepha ethalea (Walker, 1849) is a species of fruit fly documented in the state of Roraima, Brazil, specifically within the municipality of Boa Vista.[2] As of 2017, it is one of 25 Anastrepha species recorded in Roraima, though no specific host plants have been identified for this species in the Brazilian Amazon region.[2]
