Anastrepha cordata is a small fruit fly. Based on examination of museum specimens, the body exhibits a predominantly yellowish-brown coloration. The wings are characterized by distinct, darker brown patterns typical of the genus Anastrepha, with a visible costal band and other wing markings.[1]
Anastrepha cordata has been documented interacting with other organisms. It has been observed to have a host association with Tabernaemontana alba (Apocynaceae) and has been recorded feeding on Psidium guajava (Myrtaceae). Additionally, it interacts with the parasitoid wasp genus Doryctobracon (Braconidae).[2]
