Anastrepha barnesi is a fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Like other members of the genus Anastrepha, it is characterized by distinct wing patterns and the apical procurvature of the M1+2 vein.[2] Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset show the typical tephritid body form, with a robust thorax and abdomen, and characteristic wing venation patterns.[1]
