Anastrepha bahiensis is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic body form of the genus Anastrepha, with a distinct, often patterned, wing structure typical of the family.[1]
Anastrepha bahiensis Lima, 1937, is known to be associated with various host plants in Brazil.[2] Research has documented the species as having 16 host plant species within the country.[3] A study conducted in the municipality of Mazagão, Amapá, Brazil, between 2018 and 2020, identified Spondias purpurea L. (Anacardiaceae) as a host for this species.[3]
