Anastrepha atrigona is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic body form of the genus Anastrepha, including a distinct, often patterned wing venation typical of tephritid flies. The specimens observed show a generally robust thorax and abdomen, with coloration consistent with other members of the genus, though specific diagnostic patterns are best examined through detailed morphological study.[1]
Anastrepha atrigona is considered to be exclusive to the Amazon region.[2] In Brazil, it has been recorded in the state of Roraima, specifically within the municipalities of Amajari, Boa Vista, and Pacaraima.[2] As of 2017, there were no host plants reported for this species in Roraima.[2]
