Anastomyza deleta is a fly species within the family Heleomyzidae. Observations of museum specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal characteristic features of this species.[1] The specimens exhibit a typical acalyptrate fly body plan, with a distinct head, thorax, and abdomen. The wings are generally clear or lightly patterned, consistent with the morphology of many heleomyzids. The body coloration is predominantly brownish, which is common among members of this family. Due to the nature of the preserved specimens, finer morphological details such as specific setal patterns or precise wing venation are difficult to resolve in these images.[1]
Anastomyza deleta was described by Edwards and Malloch in 1933.[2] The species is currently accepted within the genus Anastomyza in the family Heleomyzidae.[2]
