Visual Description
Anastoechus hessei is a bee fly characterized by a dense, fuzzy covering of hair across its body, typical of many members of the family Bombyliidae. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a robust, rounded body shape covered in pale, yellowish-to-whitish setae. The wings are generally clear or lightly patterned and are held in a characteristic position when at rest.
