Biology and Distribution
Anasimyia matutina was described as a new species to science in 2019 by Locke, Skevington, and Vockeroth.[2] It is commonly referred to as the "Small-spotted Swamp Fly."[2] The species was identified as part of a comprehensive study on the Syrphidae fauna of north-eastern North America.[2]
