The available dataset images for Anasimyia annulipes are of preserved museum specimens.[1] Due to the nature of these specimens, fine morphological details such as live coloration or delicate setal patterns are not clearly resolved.
Anasimyia annulipes was described by Macquart in 1850.[2] In taxonomic literature reviewing the hoverfly fauna of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, it is noted that some historical records (e.g., Violovitsh 1960a, 1976a, 1982, 1983) have referred to Eriozona (Megasyrphus) erratica (Linnaeus, 1758) under the names Syrphus annulipes or Megasyrphus annulipes.[3]
