Visual Description
Anagnota bicolor is a small fly characterized by a distinct contrast in coloration. Observations of specimens, such as those documented in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, reveal a dark, shiny head and thorax, contrasting with a lighter, yellowish-brown abdomen.[1] The eyes are prominent and reddish in color. The wings appear relatively long in proportion to the body and exhibit a slight iridescence.[2]
Distribution and Records
Recent biodiversity surveys conducted between 2014 and 2022 have identified Anagnota bicolor as a new addition to the fauna of the Gemer area in Central Slovakia.[3]
