Visual Description
Based on observations of Anagnota bicolor specimens, these flies exhibit a slender, elongated body form typical of the family Anthomyzidae.[1] The body coloration is generally dark, and the wings are held folded over the abdomen when at rest.[1]
Distribution and Ecology
Anagnota is a genus within the family Anthomyzidae.[2] Recent biodiversity surveys have documented the presence of Anagnota bicolor (Meigen, 1838) in Central Slovakia, specifically within the Gemer area, where it was identified as a new record for the local fauna.[2]
