Identification and taxonomic notes
Amphimedon erina is accepted in GBIF and is cited with the original combination Haliclona erina (de Laubenfels, 1936) as a basionym.[2]
Distribution and ecology (knowledge scope)
Amphimedon erina occurs as part of Caribbean reef sponge communities. In a study of sponge assemblages across three reef localities in Morrocoy National Park (Venezuela), A. erina was recorded and quantified using transect-based sampling, contributing to within-site similarity and to between-site dissimilarity metrics in at least one locality comparison.[3]
