Visual Description
Amorphinopsis fistulosa is a sponge species represented in museum collections as preserved specimens. Observations of these specimens indicate a massive, irregular growth form. The surface texture is typically uneven, often displaying a rugged or slightly conulose relief, which is characteristic of many sponges within the family Halichondriidae.[1]
General Information
Amorphinopsis fistulosa was originally described as Prostylissa fistulosa by Vacelet, Vasseur & Lévi in 1976.[2] It is an accepted species within the genus Amorphinopsis.[2]
