Visual Description
Amictus pictus is a member of the family Bombyliidae, commonly known as bee flies. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit the characteristic robust, often hairy, body form typical of many bombyliids.[1] The species displays distinct patterning on the wings and body, which is consistent with its specific epithet pictus (meaning painted).[2]
