Distribution and Biology
Amenia nigromaculata has a largely coastal distribution in southwestern Australia, ranging from Exmouth Gulf in the north and extending eastwards along the Great Australian Bight to Yalata in South Australia [2]. The species is associated with host snails of the genus Bothriembryon (Orthalicidae), specifically B. balteolus, B. bulla, and B. glauerti [2]. Phylogenetic evidence suggests that A. nigromaculata is the sister species of Amenia chrysame [2].
