Based on observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Amblypsilopus nambourensis exhibits the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of the subfamily Sciapodinae.[1] The specimens display long, thin legs and wings that are held folded over the abdomen.[1] The thorax and abdomen often show metallic coloration, which is a common trait among many species in the genus Amblypsilopus.[1]
