Visual Description
Amblypsilopus bilobus is a member of the family Dolichopodidae, commonly known as long-legged flies. Based on examination of preserved specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of the genus Amblypsilopus. The specimens display long, thin legs and wings that are held in a manner consistent with other members of the family.[1]
General Information
Amblypsilopus bilobus was originally described by M.C. Van Duzee in 1929 as Psilopus bilobus.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Amblypsilopus.[2]
