Overview
Amauromyza luteiceps (Hendel, 1920) is a species of fly in the family Agromyzidae.[2] It was originally described under the name Dizygomyza luteiceps by Friedrich Hendel.[2] The species has been documented as part of the Iranian agromyzid fauna.[3]
Visual Description
Based on observations of museum specimens, Amauromyza luteiceps exhibits typical characteristics of the family Agromyzidae.[1] The specimens show a small, compact body form characteristic of leaf-mining flies. The head and thoracic regions are clearly defined, with the head appearing relatively light-colored in some specimens, consistent with the specific epithet luteiceps (meaning "yellow-headed").[1]
