Description
Alluaudomyia bella is a species of biting midge in the family Ceratopogonidae. It was originally described by D.W. Coquillett in 1902 as Ceratopogon bellus.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Alluaudomyia bella exhibits characteristic features of the genus Alluaudomyia.[1] The specimens display a slender body form typical of many ceratopogonids. The wings often show distinct patterning, which is a common diagnostic trait within this genus. Due to the limitations of the available imagery, finer morphological details such as specific antennal or tarsal structures are not clearly resolved.[1]
