This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
The species Allopiophila pseudovulgaris is a member of the family Piophilidae. As with other members of this family, it is generally characterized by a small, often shiny, black or dark-colored body. Due to the limitations of the available dataset imagery, specific diagnostic morphological traits such as wing venation or detailed setal patterns cannot be resolved.[1]
Allopiophila pseudovulgaris was originally described by Ozerov in 1989 under the name Parapiophila pseudovulgaris.[2] It is currently accepted as a valid species within the genus Allopiophila.[2]
