Allopiophila nigerrima is a species within the family Piophilidae. Morphological observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset are limited as the available imagery consists of preserved museum specimens, which may not fully capture the live appearance of the insect.[1]
Allopiophila nigerrima was originally described by William Lundbeck in 1901 as Piophila nigerrima.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Allopiophila.[2]
