The species Allominettia rubescens is a member of the family Lauxaniidae. While specific morphological traits could not be resolved from the available dataset imagery, members of the genus Allominettia are generally characterized by features typical of the Lauxaniidae, which are small, often yellowish or brownish flies.[1]
Allominettia rubescens was originally described by Pierre-Justin-Marie Macquart in 1844 under the name Sapromyza rubescens.[2] It is currently an accepted species within the genus Allominettia.[2]
