Visual Description
Allograpta rostrata is a species within the genus Allograpta, a group of hover flies belonging to the family Syrphidae. While specific morphological observations of A. rostrata from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset could not be resolved due to technical limitations in accessing the source imagery, the genus Allograpta is generally characterized by distinct features within the tribe Syrphini. Members of this genus typically possess continuous yellow markings along the lateral margins of the thorax and yellow markings on the pleura. The abdomen is generally elongated.
