Allognosta brevicornis is a species of soldier fly within the family Stratiomyidae. Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal key morphological features, including a dark, segmented abdomen and characteristic wing venation.[1] The abdomen is distinctly segmented, appearing dark brown to black in color, with a texture that appears slightly sclerotized. The wings are translucent with a network of veins typical of the order Diptera, showing a brownish tint.[1]
