Visual Description
Allognosta assamensis is a member of the family Stratiomyidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that the species exhibits a slender, elongated body form characteristic of many soldier flies.[1] The specimens display dark, somewhat metallic coloration on the thorax and abdomen, and possess relatively long, thin legs.[1]
Distribution and Classification
Allognosta assamensis was described by the entomologist E. Brunetti in 1920.[2] The species is formally recognized within the genus Allognosta in the family Stratiomyidae.[2]
