Visual Description
Allodiopsis exclusa is a species of fungus gnat within the family Mycetophilidae. As with other members of the genus Allodiopsis, individuals exhibit the characteristic morphology of fungus gnats, typically featuring slender bodies, long legs, and delicate, often patterned wings. Due to the limitations of the available dataset imagery, which consists of museum specimen records, specific diagnostic morphological traits such as detailed wing venation or fine setal patterns cannot be resolved.[1]
Taxonomic History
The species was originally described by H. Dziedzicki in 1910 under the name Rymosia exclusa.[2] It is currently accepted as a valid species within the genus Allodiopsis.[2]
