Visual Description
The species Allodia triangularis is a member of the family Mycetophilidae, commonly known as fungus gnats. As with other members of the genus Allodia, individuals are small, delicate flies. While specific morphological traits are difficult to resolve from the available dataset images, the genus is generally characterized by a slender body form, long legs, and wings that are often held over the abdomen when at rest.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Allodia triangularis was originally described by Strobl in 1895 as Brachycampta triangularis.[2] It is an accepted species within the genus Allodia.[2] Information regarding its specific ecological interactions is limited, though it is recognized as part of the broader fungus gnat fauna.[3]
