Visual Description
Allodia protenta is a small fly characteristic of the family Mycetophilidae. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a slender, elongated body form typical of fungus gnats. The abdomen exhibits distinct, alternating bands of light and dark coloration, with darker, brownish pigmentation on the posterior portion of each abdominal segment. The wings are clear and membranous, with a venation pattern consistent with the family. The legs are long and slender, equipped with visible, fine setae (bristles).
