Visual Description
Allodia lundstroemi is a small, delicate fly typical of the family Mycetophilidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the body is slender with a brownish coloration. The wings are clear and relatively long compared to the body size, with characteristic venation patterns typical of the genus. The legs are long and thin, adapted for movement among fungal substrates.[1]
Distribution and Ecology
Allodia lundstroemi has been recorded across northwestern, central, and northeastern Europe.[2] In the Bieszczady Mountains of Poland, the species has been found in diverse forest habitats, including hornbeam-oak (grond) forests and beech forests.[2]
