The available images from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset consist of preserved museum specimens.[1] Due to the nature of these specimens, fine morphological details such as wing venation patterns or specific setal arrangements are not clearly resolvable. The specimens exhibit the general body form typical of fungus gnats within the family Mycetophilidae, characterized by a slender, elongated abdomen and relatively long legs.
Distribution and Habitat
Allodia grata (Meigen, 1830) has been recorded in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. A specimen was collected in October 2021 within a submontane oak forest habitat at an elevation of 410 meters above sea level.[2]
Taxonomy Notes
In some taxonomic treatments, the group Brachycampta is considered a distinct genus rather than a subgenus of Allodia.[2]
