Visual Description
Allodia foliifera is a species of fungus gnat. Due to the small size of these insects and the limitations of available photographic documentation, specific morphological details such as wing venation or fine setal patterns are not clearly resolvable in the sampled images.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Allodia foliifera (Strobl, 1910) is a recognized species within the family Mycetophilidae.[2] It was originally described under the name Brachycampta foliifera.[2]
Specimens of this species are held in museum collections, such as the Regional Natural History Museum in Plovdiv, which houses dry specimens collected from Bulgaria and Greece between 1981 and the early 2000s.[3]
