Visual Description
Allodia barbata is a species of fungus gnat. Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits typical characteristics of the family Mycetophilidae, including a slender, elongated body form and long, thin legs.[1] The specimens show a characteristic arched thorax and delicate, membranous wings, which are common features within the genus Allodia.[1]

Allodia barbata (Lundström, 1909) is a recognized species within the family Mycetophilidae.[2] Specimens of this species have been documented in scientific collections, such as the fungus gnat collection at the Regional Natural History Museum – Plovdiv, where they are housed in the comparative collection.[3] Regarding biotic interactions, records indicate that Allodia barbata is preyed upon by the bush cricket Conocephalus dorsalis.[4]
