Visual Description
Allodia anglofennica is a species of fungus gnat. Based on examination of museum specimens, the adult exhibits typical mycetophilid morphology, characterized by a slender, elongated body and long, delicate legs. The wings are clear and membranous, with characteristic venation patterns typical of the family. The thorax is arched, and the head features prominent compound eyes and long, filiform antennae.[1]
Distribution and Collections
Allodia anglofennica was described by F.W. Edwards in 1921.[2] Specimens of this species are held in various biological collections, including the comparative collection of the Regional Natural History Museum – Plovdiv, where they are stored under box code DB16.[3]
