Allobaccha helva is a species of hoverfly within the family Syrphidae. Based on examination of preserved museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of many members of the genus Allobaccha. The abdomen is notably petiolate, being narrow at the base and widening towards the posterior segments. The wings are generally clear or lightly infuscated, and the thorax displays a dark, often metallic or brownish coloration.[1]
Allobaccha helva was originally described by Mario Bezzi in 1915 as Baccha helva. The species is currently recognized as an accepted name within the genus Allobaccha.[2]
