Allobaccha grahami exhibits the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of many members of the tribe Bacchini within the family Syrphidae. Observations of preserved specimens reveal a distinct, narrow petiolate abdomen, which is constricted at the base. The thorax and abdomen display dark coloration, with the abdomen featuring lighter, transverse bands or markings that contrast with the darker ground color. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, with typical syrphid venation patterns.[1]
Allobaccha grahami was originally described by Mario Bezzi in 1915 as Baccha grahami.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Allobaccha.[2]
