Alliopsis brunneigena is a species of fly within the family Anthomyiidae. Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits typical anthomyiid morphology, characterized by a robust, fly-like body structure.[1] The specimens display a dark, often brownish or greyish coloration on the thorax and abdomen, consistent with the general appearance of the genus Alliopsis. Due to the nature of the preserved specimens, finer morphological details such as specific setal patterns or wing venation are not clearly resolvable in the available imagery.[1]
Alliopsis brunneigena was originally described by the entomologist J. Schnabl in 1915, under the basionym Prosalpia brunneigena.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Alliopsis.[2]
