Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Alliocera exhibit characteristic features of the family Stratiomyidae.[1] The specimens display a distinct, somewhat flattened body shape typical of many soldier flies. The wings are often held flat over the abdomen when at rest, and the antennae are notably structured, consistent with the diagnostic traits of the family.[1]

Alliocera is a genus of flies in the family Stratiomyidae, first described by William Wilson Saunders in 1845.[2] It is recognized as an accepted genus within the order Diptera.[2]
