Overview
Alikangiella is a genus of flies within the family Calliphoridae. It was described by the entomologist Joseph Villeneuve de Janti in 1927.[2] The genus was established in his work regarding new higher myodarians from the island of Formosa.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of this genus exhibit typical dipteran morphology.[1] The specimens display a robust, fly-like body form with prominent compound eyes and characteristic wing venation. The thorax and abdomen show distinct sclerotized plates, and the overall body coloration in the sampled material includes dark, metallic or brownish tones consistent with many calliphorids.[1]
