The specimens show a robust, somewhat hairy thorax and abdomen. The wings are typically clear or have subtle patterning, and the legs are slender. Aleucosia directa is a species of bee fly in the family Bombyliidae. It was formally described by David K. Yeates in 1991 as part of his revision of the Australian bee fly genus Aleucosia.[2]
