Overview
Aldrichiomyza is a genus of flies belonging to the family Milichiidae. The genus was described by the entomologist Friedrich Georg Hendel in 1914.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Aldrichiomyza are small, dark-bodied flies.[1] They exhibit typical dipteran morphology, including a distinct head with prominent compound eyes, a thorax, and an abdomen. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, and the legs are slender.[1]
