Visual Description
Agromyza viciae is a species of leaf-mining fly within the family Agromyzidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the adult flies exhibit the characteristic small, robust body form typical of the family.[1] They possess a dark, often blackish or brownish coloration on the thorax and abdomen, and clear, membranous wings with distinct venation patterns.[1]
Ecology
Agromyza viciae is known to interact with various plant species, specifically within the genus Vicia (Fabaceae), including Vicia hirsuta and Vicia sativa, which serve as host plants.[2] Like other members of the Agromyzidae, the larvae are typically leafminers, feeding within the tissues of their host plants.[2]
