Agromyza plaumanni is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae. Based on examination of museum specimens, the species exhibits a dark, generally blackish or brownish-black body coloration. The wings are typically clear or slightly hyaline, with distinct venation characteristic of the genus. The head features prominent compound eyes and antennae typical of the order Diptera.[1]
Agromyza plaumanni was described by entomologist Kenneth A. Spencer in 1963. The species was formally documented in his work, "A synopsis of the Neotropical Agromyzidae," published in the Transactions of the Royal Entomological Society of London.[2]
