Visual Description
Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Agromyza phragmitidis is a small fly typical of the family Agromyzidae.[1] The specimens exhibit a dark, generally blackish or brownish-black body coloration. The wings are typically clear or slightly smoky, with characteristic venation patterns consistent with the genus Agromyza. Due to the nature of the preserved specimens, finer morphological details such as specific setal patterns or exact wing venation measurements are difficult to resolve in the available imagery.[1]
Biology and Ecology
Agromyza phragmitidis is a species of leaf-mining fly within the family Agromyzidae.[2] It has been documented to interact with the common reed, Phragmites australis.[3]
